In the Spring of 2020 we were one of the awarded nominees for the 2019 Ecostar Pollution Prevention Award for our sustainably efforts we've put forth.
We love playing outside as much as we like serving craft beer. That's why we're constantly working to better our planet through sustainability practices. Philipsburg Brewing is a one of six breweries in the Sustainability Pilot Program through Montana State University Manufacturing Extension Center & Uncommon Sense. The following projects have been implemented as a result of that program:
Cardboard Initiative 2018:
In 2018, with the implementation of a new cardboard case design, we were able to reduce our cardboard consumption by 3.5 tons annually. We are very proud to continue this in 2019 and on to reduce our environmental impact!

Other
- All cardboard is recycled through the Granite County Solid Waste District
- All of our two row malting barley is sourced in Montana
- Local, brewery-owned spring water is used in the brewing process
- In 2016 over 200,000 lbs. of spent grain went to local livestock
- Whole Leaf hops sourced in Oregon are certified Salmon Safe
